-----THE IDN ATTACHMENT PROGRAMME------

The attachment programme initiated by the company has become an intrinsic aspect of the company's business strategy and operations. The programme consists of recruiting young people in the community to work as 'Cyber Hosts' in the company's Cyber Café. There have been quite a few graduates of this program, the youngest of whom a 15 year-old final year Junior Secondary School (JSS) student from the Morning Star Preparatory!

Currently there are five young students working in the company's Cyber Café as Cyber Host's. It has been the occurrence in the past that some of the attachment students have progressed to employment level in the company, especially in the support department.

On a higher footing of the attachment programme structure involves the presence of students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology as interns with the company. IDN has since the very beginning of its operations, had a close association with a number of students from this national institution. IDN views its role in this regard as essential towards a true realisation of the nations developmental intentions. The areas within IDN that the technical interns have been able to operate in have been content development, database programming and as technical support personnel. The main point of this section of the attachment programme is that it allows IDN to serve as an avenue for these students to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the field of information technology during their holidays from their respective institutions.

The basic criteria for having an internship at IDN is to be young, ready to learn and willingness to adapt and learn new ways of doing and seeing things. It is also the ultimate climax in the stages of the attachment programme, when other IT companies; based on the knowledge and experience that they have gained whilst working and learning at IDN, recruits employees who have attained employment with the company.
